Heart Valve Repair

It is possible to repair a malfunctioned valve with no post-operative anticoagulation.  Patients with valve repair can lead a normal life with a healthy heart.

The result of valve repair can be predicted quite accurately prior to surgery and the surgical scar is very small.

At the Bangkok Heart Hospital, we use a minimally invasive technique to perform the mitral valve (the valve at the left side of the heart) surgery with a 4 cm. incision underneath the right breast. After the operation, patients will have minimal pain and be without an obvious scar which is significantly different from the old procedure where a 20 cm. incision left a scar at the mid part of the anterior chest wall.
