Heart Valve Replacement

In cases where the extent of the valve damage is beyond repair, it is necessary to replace the valve(s). Heart valve prostheses are of different types and kinds. They may be synthesized from graphite and coated with pyrolytic carbon, very durable and long-lasting, or made from human or animal tissues. Indications for their use depend on the patient's valve condition, with the aim of creating a new valve that can function effectively. The surgical scar from the procedure is also about 4 cm. in length and there is little pain. Rib cutting and wire sutures are avoided at our hospital.
